PV Array Voltage & Current Calculator

This calculator calculates the design voltage and current for a PV array, according to the IET Code of Practice for Grid Connected Solar Photovoltaic Systems.

Enter the module open circuit voltage, short circuit current, number of modules in a string, and number of strings in parallel to calculate the design voltage and current.

The design voltage is calculated as: V=Voc×Ns×1.15

The design current is calculated as: I=Isc×Np×1.25

Where:

  • Voc is the module open circuit voltage
  • Isc is the module short circuit current
  • Ns is the number of modules per string (in series)
  • Np is the number of strings in parallel
